This week, we staged our first company-wide Stop Fraud Challenge, bringing colleagues together to confront the fast-evolving threat of fraud. With digital manipulation, identity misuse and AI-driven deception on the rise, it is vital we stay ahead. That is why, as part of our values at MPL, we continue to invest in our people, our technology and our partnerships because we believe in equipping our teams with the skills and capability they need to protect our clients and the integrity of every claim.
Supported by leading industry providers and the City of London Police, the workshop brought together colleagues from across MPL including claims, tech and legal to share best practice and build collective capability. Our Head of Fraud David Taylor’s industry expertise and experience together with that of our Claims Investigation Team was deployed to challenge employees from across the business to explore two fraudulent claims in an engaging and insightful exercise. The insight from the City of London Police Insurance Fraud Enforcement Department (IFED) added real-time perspective on emerging criminal trends and the challenges facing the insurance industry.
At the heart of the workshop was the Stop Fraud Challenge itself, an immersive simulation in which teams investigated virtual claims using real-world systems including Recipero, Verisk Digital Media Forensics, LexisNexis Trace IQ and our own FraudOps platform. The exercise demonstrated how technology, data and human judgement come together to uncover fraud in a modern claims environment.
We closed the day with an engaging session from Colin Jemide of the City of London Police, whose insights reinforced the importance of vigilance, collaboration and continuous learning. The event strengthened fraud awareness across MPL, boosted confidence in our tools and sharpened our ability to identify suspicious patterns earlier in the claims process.
Staging the Stop Fraud Challenge this week marked an important step in our ongoing commitment to developing our people and strengthening our defences. It sets the tone for continued investment in capability, innovation and partnership, ensuring MPL remains proactive and resilient in the fight against fraud.
MPL Head of Fraud, David Taylor, explained, “We are grateful to our partners for helping make the Stop Fraud Challenge such an impactful day. Their insight and technology were invaluable, and we look forward to continuing this collaboration as we strengthen our response to emerging threats.”
